i feel so bad for stars like miley. mainly miley, i guess. but demi and JB too.
it sucks growing up in the spotlight.
miley gets shit for piercing her nose & belly button, for dancing like a slut, dressing in skimpy clothes, taking pictures of herself in her underwear.
the thing is though, she’s a fucking teenager. i know like, 10 people with a belly button piercing. about 6 with a nose piercing. all teenagers dance like sluts. a shitload of teenagers wear skimpy clothes. and sexting is a pretty big deal right now.
she’s growing up and she’s making mistakes. she’s learning from her mistakes and she’s living her life like a normal teenager would. except she’s getting a hell of a lot of shit for it, and that sucks. i guess, in a sense, it makes me respect her a lot more. not only is she dealing with all the shit that teenagers have to deal with, she’s getting shit for any teensy little thing she does wrong, she gets called a slut all the fucking time, she’s performing for millions and millions of people, singing, acting, blah blah blah. i could go on.
miley isn’t my favorite. but i like miley and i respect her; i just think it’s unfair the way that she’s treated.
yes, she is supposed to be a “role model” for younger kids. i really think that it’s the parents’ fault for letting miley cyrus, a fucking 16 year old girl, influence their children & their behavior. it’s just absurd.
sorry for the rant. i had a talk to my friend about this today, and we were discussing this. and my friend hates everything disney, so i guess it was enlightening in a sense.
